How to read your utility bill
Most bills hide three useful numbers among the fees.
1. Usage
Electric bills show kWh, gas bills therms or CCF, water bills gallons or CCF (1 CCF of water is 748 gallons).
2. The amount
Use the charges for this service for this month, not a past-due balance.
3. Your real rate
Amount ÷ usage. It includes fixed fees, so it's a little higher than the per-kWh price printed on the bill. That's the rate Aeonis Leak uses when you enter both numbers.
